Baroque Mantle, Sarah Myers Minimal line drawing in charcoal |
These drawings are
simple in their use of line but somewhat ornate in the style they
portray, with embroidered fabric, pearls and curling hair; the two
faces – two imaginary portraits - contrast, one with open glance
and one with a more tranquil but reserved downward gaze.

The power and beauty of minimalist sketches demonstrated yet again.
ReplyDeleteBTW, my granddaughter Zakiah trained as an animator (I may have mentioned this before.) During the last couple of years she has worked for a number of Animation companies based in Vancouver. She loves her job and is always finding ways to develop her talents.
So grateful for your kind words on my art, Derek! And apologies for replying so late, many things have been taking my time... I am very glad that Zakiah is enjoying the art and animation, I remembered she was studying in those areas – (3d in particular, wasn't it?) and it's a pleasure to hear that she's finding it rewarding and exciting! I'm sure she receives wonderful encouragement, too :-) Sending many thanks for your visit and comment :-)
